Junior Chocolatier's Club
D'you like Chocolate? Join the club! Well that is, the Junior Chocolatier's Club onat Choccie Bar!
The Junior Chocolatier's Club recently launched for newby chocolatiers in our Gandy Street studio above the shop. It's been an added bonus for young budding chocolatiers - and inspiration for any parents on the lookout for unusual activities.
Kitted out in their Choccie Bar aprons on their arrival, all Junior Chocolatiers are plied with one of our outrageous variety of hot chocolates to get into the choccie zone before being set their first challenge - the washing of the hands!! Only then do they venture into the Studio where they first do a chocolate tasting before being tasked to make their own produce for an enjoyable couple of hours.
Who can take this course?
The Junior Chocolatier or JC ideal age really is 7 - 12 but always talk to us, we frequently make exceptions either way. There is no experience required, just a deep affection for chocolate....
When is it?
We tend to book children in as and when suits their lift! Usually for two children or more, call us and we'll work out a time either after school or a weekend.
What will they do?
They have a choice of workshop themes: Animals and Shapes, Colour and Design or Fabulous Flavours.... each involves work on a couple of mini projects, usually choccie lollies as chosen by the JC's and one other chocolatey product - they'll have a tasting game and they also have a choccie challenge to negotiate....
What do JC's get to take home?
Ideally a set of lollies and one other item you have picked to make.
What should I wear?
Apron and materials are provided - participants are asked to wear non-fibrous, warm clothes, grip heeled shoes and long hair must be in a bun, plaited and up or covered - we are in a working chocolate studio and we will not be able to take children without tamed hair!! Hairnets can be provided on request!
What does it cost?
£25 per child.
